"In Your Retirement, Your Way, Alan and John lead the way to a new and dynamic definition of retirement. They begin with this exciting premise: the more you clearly identify your own personal style, the more you will experience a powerful and fulfilling next chapter in your life. With the variety of guides and road maps they provide, including a sample version of the Birkman® (a mini-Birkman®), readers can navigate their way to a more confident phase of life that offers both purpose and renewal."

As we age, doors inevitably close, health challenges arise, loved ones die, and the news – from climate change to foreign wars to divisive politics – seems all bad. How can we possibly stay happy and optimistic in the face of all this? We can. And we should! Scientists have found that lifestyle – how we live our daily life – is by far the major contributor to longevity, not genetics. And the importance of maintaining a positive attitude toward aging has also been clinically proven to extend longevity. Combining a healthy lifestyle with an optimistic attitude – maintaining confidence and a sense of hope about the future – will positively affect both physical and mental health, help delay disease, and extend longevity. Yes, we can live happily ever after. And this book will show you how your “ever after” can last even longer. The essential key: optimism.
